What are cotton covers and why do professionals choose them?
Cotton covers are washable covers made of 100% cotton or cotton blends that go over the headrest. Professionals choose them for comfort, breathability and durability - especially in practices that want to reduce waste.
What is the best way to wash cotton covers?
Follow the washing label, but as a general guideline: wash at 40-60°C with a mild detergent. Do not use harsh bleaching agents unless authorised by the manufacturer. Dry and iron according to instructions.
Do I need to wash cotton covers after each client?
For light treatments, you can serve several customers with one cover if you use additional protection or topcoat. For maximum hygiene and in case of visible contamination, we recommend washing after each use or changing with spare covers.
How many spare covers do I need?
For a busy practice, we recommend at least 3-6 covers per treatment chair: one on the table, one in the wash and several as spares. For large practices or daily washes, you can keep more.
Are cotton covers suitable for clients with sensitive skin?
Yes, 100% cotton is usually skin-friendly and breathable.
How long do cotton covers last on average?
- With proper care (proper washing methods, no harsh agents), cotton covers often last for years. Replace them as soon as the material becomes thin or elastic/closure wears out.
How can I guarantee hygiene with reusable cotton covers?
Wash at sufficient temperature, use an appropriate washing routine, and store clean covers sealed. Consider a laundry protocol (e.g. separate laundry bags for heavily soiled covers).
Are cotton covers more environmentally friendly than disposable ones?
In the long run yes, reuse reduces waste. Do pay attention to energy/water use in washing: an efficient washing machine and eco-washing detergent reduce environmental impact.
