What is a cleanable cover?
A cleanable cover is a cover made of removable material (such as artificial leather/PU, vinyl or coated fabrics) that you can quickly clean between clients with a damp cloth and suitable disinfectant.
How do I properly clean a cleanable cover?
First remove visible contamination, wipe with a mild detergent or water, then use a suitable disinfectant according to the manufacturer's instructions. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents that may damage the surface.
Which disinfectants can I use?
Use products recommended by the cover manufacturer. In general, alcohol- or water-soluble disinfectants work well, but always test a small, inconspicuous piece of material first to rule out discolouration or damage.
Are cleanable covers suitable for oil-rich treatments?
Yes, oils and creams can usually be easily removed with cleaner. Note that prolonged exposure to certain oils can cause staining; cleaning immediately prevents stubborn stains.
How long do cleanable covers last on average?
With proper maintenance several years; replace if cracks, loose seam or persistent discolouration. Give maintenance tips to your customers: no aggressive agents, avoid direct sunlight and store at room temperature.
